The members of this bateria share a common love for Samba and modern beats. Led by Enrique de Dios. The group is constantly growing and producing more members as time passes. Brigada is essentially a samba bateria but it also gets cues from a lot of other music such as 2 Step, Drum and Bass, Hip-Hop, Reggae and all other urban beats out there. They are a small but very gifted bunch of players hailing from Manila's exploding music scene. Brigada believes that anyone can learn samba and is willing to take anyone who is willing to learn even if they have no musical background. Brigada believes in real friendships that stem from the common love for Samba and Music. The bateria is known for its very unique chemistry that only time tested friendships can hold. Brigada loves Samba, Brigada loves people, Brigada loves knowledge and learning. Playing with Brigada teaches teamwork, cooperation and discipline at the same time keeping things fun and interesting for the member. Brigada may be small. But the bateria is definitely exploding in Manila! :) Brigada works closely occasionally with the Escola Brasileira Capoeira - Philippines which is led by Profesor Fantasma and under the mentorship of Mestre Oscar during big shows and recently, the first exploding Brazilian event "BRASILIPINAS" which aims to fuse brazilian culture to Filipino people. |
